research questions
the design and production elements for the piece is very simple and minimalistic and we felt that this would work best as we didn't want it to distract the audience from our piece our movements were also quite big and travelled lot and therefore anything props on stage would be in the way. Also by having a bare stage symbolises the minimalistic lifestyle you would have as a soldier. We kept our lighting simple and didn't have too many changes at the beginning we started with a red spot lighting which symbolises danger, during the middle section we had a strobe type lighting which represented the flashing lights and sirens during war time. then we went back to just red wash and side lights for the ending. For costume we wore performance blacks with army green camouflage jackets over the top to show the audience that we was soldiers. We got the jackets from the costume room at college. we wanted to choose two piece of music and mix them however decided that this was going to be hard and would be easier with just the one piece of music so the music we ended up using was called 'god of war' however the music was very long and we needed it to be cut so we got grant at college to cut the music so it ended nicely and neatly.
