The song 'feeling good ' by Nina Simone is show tune jazz blues piece. If  I were too choreograph a dance for this music I would do it in the style jazz as it has got a slow bluesy beat to it, I would probably use a prop such as a chair to create different levels. I would set this number as a solo in a show piece for a character who perhaps is making a change in their life for the better as the song quotes "its a new dawn, its a new day , its a new life, for me" as the song is originally about a black women who is creating a better life for herself as she is finally being appreciated and showing off her talent as singer.  I would include dance moves that action some of the words in the song and then as the song builds up other dances to come onto stage around the main character to create a sense of unison and confidence towards the audience which I feel the song portrays to the listener. I would set one single spot light on the main character and then when other dancers join everyone would have their own spot light id stage this piece in a v shape on stage with the main character taking centre stage at the highest point of the v and everyone would have their individual chairs also. to distinguish the main character from everyone else id would put that person in a different costume too everyone else so maybe everyone could wear black and white themed costume whilst the main character could wear the same but with silver sparkles  in order to stand out to the audience and then everyone wear character shoes but if u were male just black jazz shoes . id also set the main character to sing this piece as I feel it makes the performance more personal.
